What moves its price?

Platinum moves on automotive industry demand (especially diesel vehicles), mine supply — concentrated almost entirely in South Africa and Russia, which makes it sensitive to events in those countries —, and to a lesser extent the same store-of-value factors that affect gold.

It's traded mainly through CFDs with a regulated broker, ETFs backed by the physical metal, or futures.
